“Maimah Karmo is an authentic and passionate speaker. She gave the keynote speech at our Young Women’s Political Leadership program this July, and she left our students with the perfect message: a successful life is all about what you do with the hand you are dealt. Her message is so important because true leadership depends on being able to carry on no matter what obstacles stand in your way. I know that Maimah’s message will stay with our high school students a long time, and that they will think of her whenever life places something too hard in their path. She is a true leader, and she knows how to inspire others to lead.”

How does one describe a tiger lily? A beautiful and exotic flower?
A dedicated young woman who while in the throes of treatment for aggressive breast cancer could only think of one thing…helping other young women who might find them selves facing the same life-threatening challenges. During the darkest days of her therapy, Maimah Karmo planted the seeds of an organization, which has grown into a beautiful and exotic flower, providing much-needed support, both financial and emotional, to the most vulnerable among us. She has created an organization which is programmatically far and above others, and through a great deal of perseverance and hard work, raised the funds needed to succeed.
She is a very inspiring and dynamic speaker who describes her journey to audiences mesmerized by her style and content. At the end, there is not a dry eye in the house…and even the most hardened heart rapidly becomes a willing philanthropist and supporter for her cause.
I am so very pleased to be associated with the Tigerlily Foundation and proud to support this most worthwhile organization and its incredible founder.

Maimah Karmo is the kind of speaker who can get people to follow her wherever she decides to lead. She can move you to tears but also carries herself with the steely elegance that makes women feel like, "I can do it. I WILL survive." She may not have wanted to be the poster child for breast cancer but when cancer chose her it chose a formidable enemy. Rock on, sister!
