Maimah S. Karmo, President and CEO

As an author, activist and motivational speaker Maimah Karmo wants you to live your best life, fully connected with those around you, utilizing your potential to the fullest and moving towards realizing your highest self in this lifetime. Her goal is to empower women by connecting them and closing the gap on things that separate.
As a breast cancer survivor she is committed to educating women of all ages around the world about breast cancer; and empowering them to celebrate their lives every day by harnessing their personal power.

Maimah has been writing since she can remember. By the age of five she had accumulated a wide variety of books from all over the world and kept her parents busy finding interesting new books to feed her voracious appetite for reading. In her teenage years, she wrote poems and essays. Today, she is the Managing Editor of Global Woman Magazine, an international publication, which is “every woman’s passport to the world". Global Woman Magazine addresses issues that affect women who fight against breast cancer, female genital mutilation, fistula, domestic violence, lung cancer in women and many other issues that plague the lives of women.

Her book, How Breast Cancer Saved My Life: Using A Challenge as a Gift, her most personal work to date, is a story of facing challenges, overcoming them and thriving because of them. Maimah shows how you can use apparently insurmountable odds to create the life you want to live.
